Terms Of Use

1. By submitting any contribution to this website (including comments, messages, stories, ideas, photographs, graphics, pictures, video or audio) you are deemed to automatically give Royal Navy a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sub licensable right and license to use, reproduce, perform and display such material (in whole or part) worldwide in anyway for the purpose of this activity and any future promotional uses.

2. The Royal Navy may, at its sole discretion, take immediate steps to remove any contributions for whatever reason.

3. Any contribution submitted to the website should not be defamatory, infringe any law, or violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights or intellectual property rights of any other person. You accept full responsibility for any contributions submitted by you on this website.

4. Contributions should not:

(a) be obscene, patently offensive, sexist, or promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual;
(b) harass or advocate harassment of another person;
(c) involve the transmission of "junk mail", "chain letters," or unsolicited mass mailing or "spamming";
(d) promote information that you know is false or misleading or promote illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libellous;
(e) provide material that exploits people under the age of 18 in a sexual or violent manner, or solicit personal information from anyone under 18;
(f) solicit passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other users;
(g) involve commercial activities and/or sales without our prior written consent;
(h) include logos, slogans or intellectual property belonging to other companies or organisations;
(i) contain swearing of any nature.

This list is not exhaustive and the Royal Navy reserves the right to exclude any contributions at its sole discretion for whatever reason.

5. Users of the site are personally responsible for their own contributions and Royal Navy accepts no liability whatsoever for any illegal, obscene, offensive or defamatory contribution.

6. Royal Navy or its agents cannot be held responsible for any network, computer hardware or software failures of any kind, which may result in restricted, delayed or lost contributions.

7. By submitting a contribution to the site entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

 

Data Protection

From time to time the Royal Navy may wish to contact you by email and/or SMS. We will only contact you if we believe we have information that may be of interest to you. We may provide information about you to employees and agents of the Royal Navy to administer your account. We will only retain your details long enough to carry out the task for which they were collected. We take steps to ensure that your information will be afforded the level of protection that is required under UK data protection legislation. Each electronic mailing we send you will contain details of how you can un-subscribe.
